Hello!

Hello Primary 6!

Can I firstly thank you all for the lovely cards, gifts and very kind letters and for making me so welcome and happy while I was working at Woodhill Primary with you all. I had lots of fun and enjoyed teaching you.

How are your European projects coming along? I am working on the research project that you all kindly helped me with and the information has been very helpful.

I have looked at the school website and am pleased that you can all now view the Easter movie at home. Wasn't it wonderful that our paper bags were mentioned in the Bishopbriggs Herald? A couple of my friends visited the shop and bought something, so they have one of the bags sitting in their kitchen to keep their letters in as I told them they must re-use them.

I hope to see you all soon and enjoy your spring break.

Homework Task – Term 3 – EU Country Study

Produce a project on an EU country of your choice. It should be completed and handed in before the spring break - last hand in date Friday 4th April .

Your project may include all or some of the following:
Maps
Flag
Currency
Everyday Life
Capital City
Famous Sites
Famous People
Language
Food and Drink
Industry
Tourism
Or anything else you feel is relevant.

Your project should be well planned out, carefully researched and neatly presented. It must have a cover page, a contents page, at least 6 pages of information and a bibliography listing your references.
Your project can be written, typed or produced on PowerPoint. If you choose to use PowerPoint you should produce slides and notes pages (you should hand in a disk with your presentation and a printed copy of your notes pages and list your references as a slide in PowerPoint).

By Friday 8th February, please have decided on an EU country to study and say why you have chosen it. You may hand this in on paper or post this information on the blog.

After the February holiday your project work will be your main homework along with spelling words and a maths activity or worksheet. You should spend at least 2 hours a week on your project, although I'm sure many of you will do more. Do not leave it all to the last minute - there will be a prize for the 6 people (3 from each class) we feel have put the most effort into their project. They will be on view at Parents' Night for all to see - make sure you are proud of yours!
